Buttocks Lift
Buttocks Lift:Used mostly in the Gastric Bypass , Lap Band or massive weight loss. This assumes that there is enough fat but too much skin. The skin is lifted-MUCH LIKE A ‘reverse Tummy Tuck.” Imagine a line across the top of the buttocks dipping slightly inside the gluteal crease to form a seagull shape. This allows the skin to be lifted over fat much like a breast lift. May need to be combined with an implant for projection.
Postop tidbits:
No sitting for 2 weeks: Standing or lying down only. No driving for 2 weeks. There are usually drain tubes in that drain each buttock that comes out at 2 weeks. Liposuction areas on the back +/- front are bruised for 5d-2 weeks. A garment is worn for 6-8 weeks AT ALL TIMES except to wash. Follow-up is weekly until the drains are out then 6weeks, 13 weeks, 6 months and 1 year… The buttocks will lose 10-20% (approx.) over 2-3 months.
Pros: No foreign body. Infection risk lower. Little shifting
Cons: May have a long scar. Not as projecting as implant. Cannot choose size. May not work for everyone.
